The start of a new era for the circular industry
EIT Manufacturing is building a unique event for startups, corporates, investors, tech enthusiasts and visionaries, at French and European scale.
We are at a pivotal moment in our history, where the environmental emergency and the challenges linked to climate change oblige us to fundamentally review our economic model. France generates more than 310 million tonnes of waste each year, of which almost 20% comes from the manufacturing industry. This waste of resources represents a massive cost for French and global industry. But beyond the financial aspect, it is our environment that pays the heaviest tribute. If we want to respect our commitments in terms of reducing greenhouse gas emissions, we must rethink the way we consume, produce and manage our waste and resources.
The circular economy aims to change the paradigm of linear economy, by limiting the waste of resources, the environmental impact and by increasing efficiency at all stages of the product economy.
Every organisation in industrial environments can have a role in improving circular processes, for example:
Startups: By bringing disruptive technologies and solutions, changing operating systems and business models;
SMEs and Corporates: By adapting their production systems to include reused materials, by redesigning their products to be more reusable and by dragging providers along the way for more traceable and integrated supply chains;
Research and Technology Organisations (RTO): By applying Deeptech technologies on use cases that enable circularity of industrial processes;
Innovation and knowledge hubs: By driving strategic initiatives, fostering collaboration of actors along the supply chain and by disseminating best practices across industries.
The circular economy requires a systemic approach and collaboration across different types of organisations and BoostUp! FRANCE 2023 -Circular Economy aims to contribute to this purpose by showcasing innovative solutions and approaches for a more circular industry.
